DESCRIPTION

10 yards per/spool KATIASILK twine is a medium-weight handspun silk twine. This multi-colored knotty twine varies in thickness and is fragile. Beautiful as an accent or wrapping to create texture. Not strong twine, but creates a beautiful accent when tied around invitations or gift boxes. Now comes wound on a hand-carved, raw wood (unstained) antique-style spool. Each of our silk twines is created from silk cocoons sustainably gatheredfrom a protected forest in eastern India.The cocoons are gathered after the moths have left the cocoon, so this silk twine would also be referredto as "peace" silk or Ahimsasilk {meaning: "nonviolence"}. Each part of the cocoon is used, creating no waste. The varying textures and widths reflect the varying parts of the cocoon.
