DESCRIPTION

10 yards per/spool TUSSAR & ERI blendtwine is a thin multi-texturedhandspun silk twine. This multi-colored & textured silk twine is a contrast between a soft off-white eri silk & rough, raw brown tussar silk. Comes wound on a hand-carved, raw (un-stained) antique-style wood spool. Each of our silk twines is created from silk cocoons sustainably gatheredfrom a protected forest in eastern India.The cocoons are gathered after the moths have left the cocoon, so this silk twine would also be referredto as "peace" silk or Ahimsasilk {meaning: "nonviolence"}. Each part of the cocoon is used, creating no waste. The varying textures and widths reflect the varying parts of the cocoon.
